Spicy Buffalo Wings

I signed up for the Taste and Create food blog event a few hours past the deadline so I didn’t really expect to be included. But what do you know? Not only was I kindly considered but I also got paired with the host, Myamii, herself! Yes, yes! Sometimes, some girls have all the luck.

Spicy Buffalo Wings

When I received my “assignment”, I immediately dived in to her very extensive archive of recipes but it didn’t take me long to decide on this spicy buffalo wings recipe. Why when there is this delicious Garlic, Lemon and Bacon Roasted Chicken that has been calling my name since? Or when there is this Pork Chops and Rice recipe that is heaven for any meat-and-carbohydrate loving soul like me? Well, I chose the spicy chicken wings recipe for two main reasons. Firstly, because it was in her September 2003 archive and was posted, I believe, when she was just starting out. As I am a rookie and am lost half of the time in blogosphere, I wanted to share the perspective of a then raw food blogger. Secondly, the recipe didn’t have specific amounts for the ingredients. I thought this was the perfect recipe for me to be able to infuse my own tastes. Oh, two more reasons: One, I enjoy buffalo wings. I enjoy it so much I’ve made Pizza Hut richer. Two, I like easy. I think, even I could not have messed this wings up! I basically just melted the butter with the tabasco, threw the chicken wings in the oven to bake, poured the tabasco-butter mixture when the wings where halfway done and viola! A nice platter of buffalo wings!

I played with the ingredients three or four times before I achieved my desired results~1/2 cup tabasco was child’s play, 1 cup was delivering some kick, 1 1/2 cups we were on to something, and 2 cups just plain tested my courage! So note the proportions of ingredients that settled well with my buds and head over to For the Love of Food to obtain detailed cooking directions for this spicy buffalo wings and for other gastronomic delights!.

Great choice! Actually, I didn’t start blogging until 2005, but I posted the recipes back when they were taken - in 2003. You just made my first ever photographed meal -even before I was a blogger - my birthday lunch with friends!

Now you got me craving chicken wings again..and it’s 10:30pm!

Got something to say?
